Pachystegia insignis
A superb coastal garden plant, native to the South Island's Marlborough coastline, and able to withstand the poorest and roughest of conditions. In summer it has beautiful daisy-like flowers with yellow centres. And all year round it has glossy deep-green leaves with grey felt-like undersides.
Feature:

Excellent garden plant in any landscape.

Uses: Gardens and borders. Good for patio pots when young.
Position: An open site with full sun and good drainage. Tolerant of coastal conditions.
Care: Little needed, an occasional prune and tidy and a light dressing of lime and blood & bone in spring.
