Just some of the characteristics which make Salvia ‘Marcus’ superb for small gardens are its all-summer and into autumn flowering period, its compact, dense habit of growth which makes it easy to accommodate where space is at a premium, and its suitability for growing in pots as well as in the garden.
In a pot, Salvia ‘Marcus’ can be combined with colourful, low growing annuals such as the miniature flowered petunias. In the garden it makes an attractive foreground to small growing English lavenders such as ‘Foveaux Storm’ and ‘Violet Intrigue’ and the new, dwarf form of deliciously fragrant and all summer flowering Heliotrope ‘Baby Marine’.
Mix it up with the little, white flowered and very pretty NZ native Parahebe ‘Snowcap’, groundcovering Bacopa varieties such as ‘Blizzard’ and ‘Blue Showers’, delicious smelling Cosmos ‘Hot Chocolate’ and ‘Baby Red Mexican Bandits’ Salvias.
