Macropiper Golden Heart
Macropiper excelsum 'Golden Heart'
A compact, bushy and showy New Zealand native. Its large, glossy, heart-shaped leaves are edged in a rich green and bear a large bright yellow blotch. Novel and attractive. A variegated form of the Pepper Tree and a choice plant which is not often available.
Feature:

New Zealand native understory shrub with prominent leaf colouration.

Uses: Use under established trees, in borders or under eaves. Okay for a while in a patio tub.
Position: Best in semi to full shade and well-drained soil. Will handle warmer areas of Zone 9 provided protection from all but the lightest frost.
Care: Best not to let get too dry, feed in autumn and watch for tell-tale signs of chewing insects.
