Geranium incanum
Geranium incanum
This carpeting perennial spreads to form a dense mat with oodles of mauve flowers over summer. Its fine, lacy foliage is grey-green on top and silky white beneath. Wonderful for trailing over retaining walls, in and out of all sorts of nooks and crannies in rockeries and pathes, and in patio pots and baskets.
Feature:

A distinctive and showy South African at its peak over summer.

Uses: Banks or as a colourful border plant. It is also very attractive when allowed to trail and wander between steps in garden pathways.
Position: Best in full sun, though will grow readily in part shade too. Requires good drainage and will handle warmer parts of Zone 8 with protection from harsh frost.
Care: Little needed, an occasional feed and tidy is adequate.
