A tall vigorous evergreen shrub with dark green leaves. For long periods from spring and through summer, the bush is covered in long deep purple flowers. It is one of the more spectacular varieties to come out of the Jack Hobbs and Auckland Regional Gardens programme.

Gardens and borders. Excellent ground-breaker for use in new gardens.
Position:
Sunny and well-drained. A larger-growing variety and especially tolerant of coastal conditions.
Care:
Clip spent flowers and give a light feed with a general fertiliser in autumn.
