More elegant than its close relatives, the hebes, this NZ native has most attractive small, dark, glossy green foliage. But it’s the snowy white flowers which are the biggest attraction of this miniature, soft-stemmed shrub. Not only are they beautiful, they also appear for an amazingly long time during spring and summer.
It can be used as a dwarf hedge - Ben McMaster, one of this country’s leading landscape designers uses it frequently in place of dwarf box to edge paths. He also uses it extensively as a groundcover beneath ‘Iceberg’ and other white roses. Imagine it with ‘White Flower Carpet’ roses or silver astelias.
