Beautifully blue and pleasingly free flowering, Salvia ‘Aztec Blue’ is a happy sight in gardens from late spring until summer’s end. Its flowers are of the true blue colour that are certain to make you smile. This compact perennial fits in easily with all sorts of plants, from low growing roses to lavenders, and is exquisite when mixed with other small and cheerful and exceptionally free flowering perennials and ground covers. It’s a delight with brightly coloured arctotis, such as ‘Red Magic’ and ‘Sunflower’ as it is with the shiny white flowers of Shasta ‘Highland Dream’. Blue and yellow is a classic combination, so why not mingle several Salvia ‘Aztec Blue’ with the double yellow flowered marguerite daisy ‘Sunjay’ and the blue, yellow centred kingfisher daisy Felicia ‘Golden Sapphire’. Add the all spring and summer flowering Bacopa ‘Blue Showers’ to cover the foreground and you’re assured of a pretty picture.
