This climber has heaps going for it, including beautiful white flowers in early summer which have a strong and appealing fragrance. It also has attractive evergreen foliage and a good habit of growth - not so vigorous that it becomes a nuisance, as some climbers can do, but still growing strongly enough that it makes good progress up walls and verandah posts and through trellis.
In addition to its usefulness as a climber, Trachelospermum jasminoides also makes a darned good ground cover. To achieve this work-reducing habit of growth it will need a bit of clipping - a light going over with the hedge shears after flowering to remove any growths which are heading skywards is all that’s need to keep it bushy.
However you choose to use it, this is one of those plants which will provide lots of pleasure and will go on getting better year after year.
