The wonderful sky blue flowers of Ceanothus ‘Yankee Point’ cover the rounded bush in late spring and early summer, creating a very pleasing picture. This wide spreading shrub is superb for low maintenance plantings on sunny, well drained banks and borders. It’s drought tolerant once established and will thrive even in poor and sandy soils. For a bit of drama, mingle Ceanothus ‘Yankee Point’ with Genista ‘Yellow Imp’, yellow and orange flowered Leucospermums, Echium fastuosum, and Protea cynaroides. Or try surrounding it with sun loving groundcovers, such as Grevillea ‘Bronze Rambler’ or Osteospermums, or group it with shrubby Metrosideros ‘Tahiti’ for a blue and red look.
