Grevillea Robin Hood
Grevillea hookeriana 'Robin Hood'
Getting the birds

Nectar rich flowers attract native birds such as wax eyes, tui and bellbirds to Grevillea ‘Robyn Hood’. The flowering season is extensive and this alone gives it plenty of appeal, but when there are birds balancing on the stems as they feed it’s a real bonus. Plant other bird attracting shrubs and trees too and you could have a garden which is full of bird song and movement all year round.

Other Grevilleas, especially ‘Robyn Gordon’, are good for luring native birds too, as is the small kowhai Sophora ‘Dragons Gold’ and the taller growing kowhai ‘Te Atatu Gold’. Other handsome, bird attracters include kaka beak, Clianthus ‘Kaka King’, Metrosideros ‘Tahiti’ and Metrosideros ‘Gold’, Abutilons and Anigozanthos.
