‘Robyn Gordon’ really does flower non-stop, and the light red flowers are big and beautiful, the foliage bold and handsome, making it a remarkable shrub. It’s nice and low growing and well rounded, so it’s an easy shrub to accommodate in small gardens. Where there are native birds around, it attracts tuis, bellbirds and waxeyes, further adding to its appeal. Plant it near the house, where you can enjoy the flowers and the bird-life from the window of a frequently used room such as the kitchen.
‘Robyn Gordon’ thrives where its sunny and well drained and does well in coastal gardens where it is sometimes seen surrounded by other coastal plants such as low growing rosemary, variegated taupatas (Coprosmas), hebes, lavenders and echiums. Use it too in coastal gardens as a foreground planting to sheltering groups of pohutukawas (Metrosideros) and banksias.
