An outstanding variegated Pohutukawa with bright crimson flowers over summer. The species hails from the Kermadec Islands. It's a great specimen tree for smaller sections, while in larger gardens it lends itself to mass planting. Once established it'll handle a wide range of conditions and is particularly coastal tolerant.
An excellent garden, tub and patio plant with lots of flower and foliage colour. Brilliant red flowers burst from conspicuous red buds from late autumn through to spring. As leaves mature they change from silvery-green to a grey silver providing a stunning contrast to the flowers.
A Pacific cousin of our native pohutukawa, Tahitian Sunset has delightful variegated cream foliage that provides a subtle backdrop to vivid scarlet flowers intermittently throughout the year - welcome colour through winter. As autumn cools, new foliage tips colour to pink and red, adding another colourful touch.

Evergreen rounded shrub, with oval glossy green leaves. Strongly scented creamy yellow purple edged flowers are produced over the summer months. Can be grown in sun but does better if planted in a warm sheltered position in light shade. Great in tubs. 2.5 x 1 metre.

Sweetly scented, beautiful white flowers opening from velvety buds and deep green, glossy, small foliage make this tall shrub one to cherish. The flowers open in early spring, last for many weeks and cover the bush from top to toe. Even when not in flower 'Fiona' is one of the best evergreen foliage shrubs you can find.
An easily grown, long flowering, no fuss, non-running perennial for the border, with the added bonus of scented foliage. During summer, clear pink & nicely scented flowers sit above deep green mildew-resistant foliage. Plant in moist-ish soil in a sunny site. Grows 30 x 30 centimetres.

Arguably our most spectacular native herbaceous plant. Dormant in winter in colder districts, spring sees rapid growth of showy, shiny, veined, bright green leaves that are soon followed by intense blue flowers in large pyramidal heads up to 15cm wide. Very showy and a sight that will not disappoint.
A standout foliage shrub with intensely coloured leaves in hues of dark-red, bronze and black - an effect that makes Black Beauty one of the most effective texture, background and indoor-foliage-display shrubs that we've seen. Colour's intensified in winter, and is encouraged by regular clipping and picking for indoor work.
