A very refreshing New Zealand native. Quickly forms a dense, small to medium pyramidal-shaped shrub with masses of small, fresh, green leaves. The foliage is a fresh green, looks attractive year round and is especially useful in floral arrangements providing body or background.
Something a little different in the popular sweet-pea-bush, a compact grower with glaucous leaves and rich pink/purple flowers. This evergreen shrub tolerates poor soils and dry conditions. A light clip early in spring will encourage new growth and a spring flush of flowers that will last until summer, and repeatedly spot flower almost all year round. Lovely contrast with white-flowered underplantings.
Highly decorative native shrub with distinctive lobed leaves in a glossy rich green. Excellent landscape feature, avenue or background plant. Perfect in a group or mingled among other foliage plants, bringing something of a sub-tropical look. Makes a good tub plant for a year or two when it's readily transplanted to the garden.
Showy multi-branched and bushy shrub with richly coloured variegated foliage; whorls of glossy leaves in splashes of forest green, lime and yellow. An impressive picture and indispensable in a modern landscape. Makes a good tub plant for a year or two when it's readily transplanted to the garden.
