Arenaria White Sparkler
Arenaria montana compactum 'White Sparkler'
White Sparkler's at home in patio pots, rock gardens, borders and in nooks and crannies between pavers and in gaps in garden walls. It's a robust green-leafed perennial plant with small, slender-stalked, ice-white flowers en masse from spring and on into summer. Wonderful contrast with bold foliage groundcovers.
Wonderful structural plant for gardens in coastal and warmer parts of New Zealand - attractive, narrow silver foliage. It'll grow to form a tight, compact and tidy clump that needs little care, though will benefit from protection from harsh winds. A great choice for coastal and seaside gardens, coastal cliffs being its natural habitat.
New Zealand gardens have undergone a transformation in recent years, the use of strong structural forms having become very popular. Right at the forefront of this is a once-endangered New Zealand (Chatham Islands) native. A very dramatic landscape plant that's become a standard setter.
An outstanding variety with pure white flowers borne in profusion all year round and lush green foliage. With its cascading habit, Blizzard makes an excellent hanging basket plant. Prefers dappled shade shade. Prune lightly between flushes. Feed with a controlled release fertiliser regularly and do not let it dry out over summer.
Blue Showers produces masses of brilliant clear blue flowers, which contrast well against the bright green foliage. Versatile easy-care, long flowering plant for baskets, pots and borders. Flowers from autumn to spring. Grows 10cm x 1m.
Breathtaking; deep rich green foliage generously overlaid with a speckled and deeply veined frost. From late spring tiny clusters of baby-blue "forget-me-not" flowers abound just above the foliage. Excellent choice for underplanting evergreens and brightening shady corners. In a container it brings pleasure near to, or on the patio.
One of the best and most rewarding of all the ground-hugging bellflowers. From late spring it produces an outstanding show of clusters of vivid-violet-blue flowers. These last well into summer. An excellent ‘up front’ perennial that’s hard to walk past when in flower.
Superb hardy ground cover shrub with masses of deep blue flowers in spring. It's spectacular on walls, banks, rock gardens and as a foreground plant. Plant in a sunny, well drained positon. Extremely hardy to wind and cold. Spreads to 1.5 metres, growing 75cm high.
An outstanding foliage plant with lime-green-yellow leaves, generously patched in deep-forest-green. In summer, yellow colouration dominates, while deep-green patches are most prominent in cooler or shaded conditions. Almost an afterthought, pale blue flowers appear in spring to supplement the stunning foliage display.
Attractive year round with a neat conical shape and dense, short, leathery foliage in shades of steel-grey-blue, more pronounced in winter. Superior selection that leaves a bold impression anywhere a hint of cool formality is required. Particularly easy to care for; conifers virtiually look after themselves.
